Do you think courage is essential for living a life that God has called you to live?

The meaning of courage is “risking right in the face of fear.” Our sermon on Sunday was about courage. Courage of women, courage of Mother's, courage to do what is right in the face of fear.

I'm going to share the link for the sermon by Pastor Scott Lehr of Southbridge Church in Raleigh, NC, and hope that you will listen and be blessed.

Interestingly enough, Pastor Scott tells a story of a Mom who faces a bear to save her child. Similarly, my Mom faced a black bear on a hiking path in Tennessee when me and my brother were probably 4 and 6 years of age. My Mom’s solution was to throw the bear our brown bag lunches and tell us to run. The comical part of the story was by the time my Mom said run, my younger brother was already up and over the hill. He knew what to do in this situation.

The subject of genocide is also broached in this sermon. I do believe in this time, it is valuable to be reminded of how and why leaders and factions are trying to wipe out the Jews. We need to be reminded because evidently, we humans continue to forget the previous mistakes we have made. History does repeat itself, and the evil one is the leader on the path to try and destroy God’s chosen people. Pray for Israel!

Indeed we must have courage to walk the path of righteousness that we have been called to walk. Walk the walk, and talk the talk, and have the courage to do what is right in the face of fear. This path is the one less traveled by most people. However this path leads to eternal glory, not fleeting pleasures.

Exodus 2: 23- 24

“Now it happened in the process of time that the king of Egypt died. Then the children of Israel groaned because of the bondage, and they cried out; and their cry came up to God because of the bondage. So God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God acknowledged them.”
