Was the build up worth the wait?

Definitely! Beyond expectations! Blessed beyond!
When we wait for good things to come about, it can be trying. Most of us want to control the timing of everything, and we want it now. Now, is not always the answer. Now, typically doesn’t result in forever. With waiting, we grow…character, integrity and perseverance. With waiting, the results are a gift beyond our wildest expectations.
Yesterday, my oldest son proposed to the most lovely young lady. It was a blessed day beyond my wildest imagination. As my husband and I were headed out the door to go to church, he stopped in front of the glass door. Sitting right outside on our door mat was a Red Cardinal. He said, “my Dad.”
I see my fair share of Cardinals in our yard, but this one was under our covered porch on our doormat. And right behind him, I see the female Cardinal swoop for a landing into the Magnolia tree. I said, “and there’s your Mom. My husband responded, “she’s never far behind him.” A start to a day that was beautiful in every sense of the word.
This was God’s little gift to us. Our son is named after my husband’s father. The ring my son proposed with yesterday was a family ring. The center stone was the diamond that was in the engagement ring that my husband’s father proposed to his mother with. The stone was placed into a ring that my husband proposed to me with, and now my future daughter-in-law wears the ring. Symbols of love passing down through the generations.
The topic of our church sermon yesterday was nothing short of coincidence, “LOVE, ”Scott Lehr, our Pastor, gave us a gift that I long to share with everyone. It was God speaking through him. I thought this when I was listening, and my son said the same thing later when he spoke about the sermon.
My son and his now fiancée attended the service following the one we went to yesterday. I could not believe how perfect this was scripted into my son’s plan for the day. Yet, divine gifts are always the best gifts.
While I was drinking my coffee yesterday morning before church, I read the same passages from Galatians and Corinthians that were in the sermon yesterday. Coincidence? I believe not.
I encourage you to set aside time to listen to this entire sermon, for it is a gift. Yesterday was a day that is hard to top. But, I know that what God has in-store for me, and all those who believe in Him, will be so worth the wait!
“Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.“
