Do you pray?

Peace through prayer. Peace by the sea.
Peace through prayer. Peace by the sea.

In the Bible, it says to pray constantly without ceasing.  “Rejoice always, pray continually,  give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

- 1 Thessalonians 5: 16- 18

When I was younger, I use to think this was a hardship. Granted I had a lot of responsibility and people relying on me and needing my attention. Now, I find this assignment, such a blessing that brings me great joy. For the past 20+ years I have had a 6am enter on my i-phone calendar app that reads, “I choose positive, live a Godly existence, pray.” This reminder was one of the first things I every morning. However, it hasn’t been until the past ten years that I actually put into practice the call to ”pray” as I should, without ceasing.

At all times, everyone is alone in their thoughts. Although when we pray, we are connected to God, our Creator. My circumstances allow me to praise God first thing in the morning when I am aware of my first breath, “Thank you Lord, for this air that fills my lungs.” What a gift!

If only, I had been aware of the abundant blessings God has given me and each one of us, prior to my health issues. I encourage you to be conscious today and every day of every little gift from above. Praise God for each one, as you are able. You will find your spirit’s lifted.

You are never alone when you acknowledge your Creator. This is our gift on earth. Our body, mind, and spirit, provide so much to us throughout our lives that go unacknowledged if we allow. Become aware of these little gifts throughout your day and be blessed.

Matthew 6: 9- 15

“ This, then, is how you should pray:

‘Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father, will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. “
