What are you holding onto? Or better yet, who are you holding on to?

Life can throw some serious curve balls. Some start out life on a curve ball. For others a curve is introduced early in life. And yet there are several different types of pitches thrown between each curve ball.
Life is not a still life picture. It is flowing daily. We can choose to go with the flow and grow in a positive way or we can hold onto life’s many curves balls that took us by surprise.
Like anyone who faces a curve ball in life, it is important to talk about the ball that took you by surprise. However, it is up to each one of us to step up to the plate again, and be willing to stare down that change that awaits and handle it differently the next time we are faced with a different reality than what we expected. We are responsible for the entire process. If we carry our past failures with us in our daily walk, it will weigh us down. It will also weigh heavily on those we are around. How are we to walk confidently to the plate and face another pitch with confidence and belief that we can hit the next ball out of the park?
God longs for us to hold onto Him. That is why He sent His only Son for redemption for each and every soul on earth, who will believe in Jesus. He says, “I love you. You have everything you need in life, because you believe in Me. Look to Me, and you will live. I took every curveball and nailed it to the cross. Look only to Me for fulfillment in this life and the one to come.”
People will let you down. They will sin, and it will effect you. Jesus says, I have taken that sin, give that to Me. Trust Me, so that you can teach others that I will stand alongside you when you walk back up to the plate, and life throws you another curveball. No one person is any more or any less loved by God.
“but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in Him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.”
-Romans 4: 24- 25
