3/1/24- Our Protection

Have you ever recorded in a journal? I was very young when I received my first diary. It had a lock on it, so I could write my innermost secrets and thoughts without worrying that someone would read them and think anything bad of me. The lock also was there to protect others from getting their feelings hurt.

It's amazing how bad it hurts us when we hurt another person's feelings. Thankfully God built that into our psyche. If we didn't care if we hurt others, we would live in anarchy,

Chaos!

We need rules and boundaries to keep our physical and mental health protected, like a lock. We also need individuals of authority: like the police, principals, teachers, preachers, parking attendants, and the like, to keep order and make sure others follow rules.

Deuteronomy 9:10- "The Lord gave me two stone tablets inscribed by the finger of God. On them were all the commandments the Lord proclaimed to you on the mountain out of the fire, on the day of the assembly."

God was the first to speak His word and share His commandments to ensure order. He knew that it was in our nature to be tempted. He knew we were sinners from the beginning. His commandments were spoken to help this world follow and create order. His hope has always been that we ALL could live and be with Him forever.
