3/15/24- Celebration Friday!

It’s always fun to celebrate Friday. We get to look forward to the weekend. Weekends are great for so many reasons.

Weekends are a time to sleep in, maybe, a time when there is no set schedule, maybe. Weekends are a time when we can do some things we want to do, maybe, a time to commune with friends and family.

The weekend also gives us Sunday, a time to rejuvenate our bodies with a day of rest, necessary. It also includes a day to rejoice and give praise to our Creator who gave us life, necessary.

One of my favorite childhood memories is napping on a Sunday afternoon lying in the sun after changing into my comfy clothes following church. As a kid and maybe not until my late 30s did I think about attending church on a Sunday as something I wanted to do. I more or less felt obligated, and it was often challenging to rally our three children to get us all there without duress. I'm so thankful I was blessed with a husband who also desires to attend church, and was a willing helper in getting us all there together.

I'm thankful that attending church on Sundays is now something I look forward to, and I'm also thankful for the joy and rejuvenation I feel after attending. Attending church now fills me with even more joy and such a feeling of happiness, seeing one or all of my grown children and best friends. Seeing them at church and knowing the faith that they each hold in their hearts is an answer to prayer and such a gift.

Jeremiah 17:10-

I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind,

to reward each person according to their conduct,

according to what their deeds deserve.”

So thankful for Fridays and the weekend! Be safe and responsible for you are the one to be held accountable for the outcome of your choices. Happy Friday to you!
