3/29/24- Ultimate Love -Sacrifice

Have you ever had a friend or loved one pay an act of kindness that you didn't even know that you needed or wanted, and she does this act completely out of love?

My dear dear best friend from college paid me an act of kindness that I have held onto since she shared her unselfish act of love. I had gone to visit with her after my two little ones were probably 2 and 4 years of age. I don't think I had slept or even had an uninterrupted meal for some 5 years. After I arrived at her place, we talked and talked and caught up. Not long after that she said, “You stay put, I’m going to go run a bath for you with some essential oils.

She called me into the bathroom when everything was all set. There were candles lit surrounding the tub, and I could smell the lavender emanating from the warm bath. She had laid a towel and a robe out for me to put on when I was done. She left the bathroom and said take your time and just relax.

This was one of the greatest acts of love that was completely unexpected. She has always been there for me through it all, and I am forever grateful. It was her example of caring and love toward me that I have loved to pay forward. It makes me feel so good to know that I can make someone else feel this loved and special. Beyond thankful for you sweet friend! I love you!!

It is a bit of a somber day with hope on the horizon, for all must go as God planned. An innocent man was flogged more than the allotted number of times, and at least 39 whips with multiple flagellators. He endured all of this brutal flogging prior to His crucifixion which required Him to carry His crossbar weighing some 80- 110 pounds uphill for approximately 650 yards. An innocent man who was found guilty of ‘what?’

Jesus walked this earth with humility and gentleness. He loved everyone, regardless of their previous sins. Jesus did this all out of love for each one of us who choose to believe that He is the Son of God. He laid down His life for those who love Him.

John 15: 12- “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”
