Mark 1: 23- 24-

Now there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit. And he cried out,  saying, ‘Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!’”

It's amazing to me how history has been passed down through the ages. This is a picture of Colonel Albert Bacon Blanton. He was referenced as Colonel, a nickname gained by his quick study of the distillery processes. He dedicated 55 years to the production and distribution of bourbon. He managed to keep the distillery operating during Prohibition, the Great Depression, WWII and a great flood. We can still purchase Blanton's bourbon today.

The Bible verse that I chose today is from Mark, a remarkable disciple who recorded what he witnessed while he was with Jesus. This text highlights another amazing account of Jesus. Not only was Luke witness to demon’s acknowledging Jesus as the Holy One of God, but Mark recorded this incident as well. These men both wrote of what they witnessed. This recorded account and acknowledgement of who Jesus was/is, should be more believable if recorded by two or more men. Yet, still many find this hard to believe. Both Mark and Luke are printed in books of the Bible.

What made this incident so important to both of these apostles and authors of New Testament records? They both heard demons speak about Jesus, as the Holy One of God. I think fear would have stricken me if I had witnessed this and heard what they both heard regarding this account from an evil spirit that took up a dwelling in an un-wanting individual.

Fear alone might have made me retell this story and record it for others to read. Let alone the fact that Jesus was referred to as the Holy One of God.

Witnessing a miracle can move you to the core, and can force you to take action and sacrifice your own time to make sure that others can learn of the amazing wonders of God. We are called to hold faith in God and hopefully meet Him face to face when our time comes.

Miracles are recorded throughout the Bible. The Christian Bible is the best- selling book of all times, having sold over 5 billion copies worldwide. Interestingly, when I googled the highest selling book, Harry Potter was listed as #1 with 600 million copies sold.

I hope it makes you think about how many have access to the Bible, because God promised we would always have His Word.

It's one thing to have His word, but another to become educated and live with His word in you.
