Do you ever find yourself with too much on your plate?

This was a saved blog in my queue.... how appropriate for today!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all! Blessings on you and your loved ones!

"Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever." -Psalm 107:1
"Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever." -Psalm 107:1

Funny that we can literally have too much "food" on our plate, and we end up suffering. Having too much on our plate "schedule wise" can also make us suffer. When our plates are full, we lose priority. First off our list, is time we invest with God. Next comes family, then self, until we can barely stand. All because we lost focus on what we already had on our plate. Practice saying "No."

The practice of saying "no," was something I had written on a note pad at one time in my life. It was required for me to learn this practice, so that I could stay on task and keep my energy for the necessities on my plate. If I hadn't made myself say "no" at times, I would not have been able to love others well. I really wouldn't have loved myself well.

Make an effort to evaluate what is on your plate. Try to practice more "no" and carrying less weigh on your shoulders. Remember to prioritize the important people and pieces of your life. See how life will improve. Hopefully, you will see positive results with much less suffering and more rejoicing.

"Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because,

having stood the test,

that person

will receive

the crown of life

that the Lord has promised

to those

who love Him."

-James 1:12
