Own Your Life

Do you own who you are: your actions, your words, your choices?

ree

I was recently reminded of how life is like a good race. Only those who are serious make the effort to practice and remain disciplined. We all are responsible to run our own race. It is up to us to correct the errors of our ways through constant, mindful practice.

In this lifetime, we must rely on instruction and guidance in order to gain understanding. The truth is that we all grow, but only a few gain wisdom. Wisdom is gained when choices are made that put off selfish gain. The eyes that we set our sights on must be pure to receive true wisdom that blesses us. For all have the ability to gain worldly wisdom, but only a few train to reap eternal glory, which embodies true wisdom.

The words we speak and our actions impact those around us. We always have a Witness. There is no passive spectator. A witness is active, and able to testify to your actions. This reality is meant to hold each one of us accountable.

Take ownership of your words, your actions, your own choices: and make your life count for goodness as God has called for you to glorify Him with all of these qualities. Sin is too easy to grab us; pride, arrogance, unbelief. Sin can trap us. “Something that is so fun, can be so destructive.”

What are you playing with? Is it harmful? Take note and own up to the truth. Make sure no one else is dictating that truth. This is your life, and no one else will cross the finish line for you. You will do that by yourself.

It is never too late to start, and make that change.

"No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it." -Hebrews 12:11
